Ghana moves above Ivory Coast in latest FIFA rankings
Ghana has moved a place above Ivory Coast in the FIFA rankings.
The latest rankings were released on Thursday [August 11] and Ghana has moved to the 35th position. In July, they were 36th.
August’s ranking means that Ghana is now above Ivory Coast who are 36th but behind Czech Republic who are 34th.
The Black Stars’ last assignment was in June when they beat Mauritius 2-0.
On the continental level, Ghana comes after Algeria who are 32nd at the world stage. Ivory Coast is third in Africa.
On the global stage, there wasn’t any change in the top 19. Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile make up the top five.
Portugal, France, Spain, Brazil and Italy complete the list of top ten countries in the rankings.
Ghana will play Rwanda, who are ranked 121, in September as part of the qualifying round
