Efya, Stonebwoy, others get nominations for NEA Awards
Efya, Stonebwoy, Bisa Kdei, Shatta Wale, MzVee and some other Ghanaians who are in the art industry have been nominated for certain categories in the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Efya and MzVee got nominations in the African Female Artist (Non Nigerian) category, where they go against Vanessa Mdee [Tanzania], Lira [South Africa], Sheebah Ndiwanjawulo [Uganda], Adiouza [Senegal], Victoria Kimani [Kenya] and Knowles Butera [Rwanda].
Stonebwoy, Bisa Kdei and Shatta Wale are in the African Male Artist (Non Nigerian) category and they have been pitched against FA [Liberia], Sauti Sol [Kenya], Deng [Liberia], Papa Denis [Kenya] and Eric Geso [Liberai].
For the African (Non Nigerian) Best Actor category, Majid Michel [The Department], Abraham Attah [Beast of No Nation], Henry Adofo [Freetown], Van Vicker [A Long Night] and Chris Attoh [Happiness].
Yvonne Okoro’s role in the movie ‘Rebecca’ got her a nomination in the African (Non Nigerian) Best Actress category. She is in there with Ama K Abebrese [Beast of No Nation], Nana Mensah [An African City], Fulu Mugovhani [Ayanda], Nuong Faalong Freetown] and Farida Kuteesa [House Arrest].

This year’s NEA awards will be hosted by RMD and Joselyn Dumas. It will be on September 4, 2016, and will be held at the Tribeca Performing Art Center, 199 Chambers Street, New York.
