Twitter changing the way it counts the 140 characters
Twitter will begin counting its 140 characters for tweets in a different way starting from September 19.
The company will begin to cut down on exactly what kind of content will go into the 140 characters.
Media attachments (photos, videos, GIFs, vines, poll, etc) and quoted tweets will no longer be counted.
Twitter announced its plans to make this move in May but didn’t state when it would be carried out. The Verge is reporting that it will be released on September 19.
