Turkey blocks Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter
Turkish authorities have blocked access to some social media and messaging, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Youtube and Twitter.
This comes after some opposition leaders in the country were arrested.
Turkey Blocks, an internet monitoring tool, reported on Friday that Facebook, Youtube and Twitter had been blocked. It later announced that Turkish authorities had blocked WhatsApp too.
There are, however, rumours that some people in the country, are still getting onto these platforms by using virtual private networks (VPN) or proxies.
In July, Turkey put restrictions on social media after attempted coup and the violent attack on the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul.
