Amazon ordered to refund in-app purchases made by children
A federal judge in America has ordered Amazon to recompense parents whose children made in-app purchases with their [the parents’] authorization.
According to Reuters, the order states that the payments must begin in 2017.
America’s Federal Trade Commission has already accused the retail giant of not sufficiently warning parents that some free games allowed players to make in-app purchases.
The court’s order calls for Amazon to set up a notice-and-claim process to alert parents of their eligibility for refunds, and then to reimburse them.
