Volkwagen won’t sell diesel-powered cars in US again

Volkswagen has confirmed that it won’t sell any diesel-powered cars in the United States again.

The company is rather putting its focus on electrification. It is developing a platform named MEB. This platform is designed to underpin battery-powered models and promises to put at least a million cars on the road by 2025.

This decision also applies to Audi, only that its compression ignition engine still thrives in some segments of the market.

“Once we hopefully get past everything, I see an opportunity for potentially, probably to offer it on one model, and that model would probably be the Q7 SUV,” president of Audi, Scott Keogh told Reuters.
