Samuel Eto’o facing 10 years in prison for tax fraud
Spanish media is reporting that Samuel Eto’o could be jailed for ten years and slapped with a €14million fine for tax crimes which he committed while playing in Spain.
Spanish paper, El Pais, reports that Eto’o’s tax fraud happened between 2006 and 2009 when he was a Barcelona player. He reportedly defrauded the Spanish government of about 3.5 million Euros.
According to the report, Eto’o had two companies, one in Spain and another in Hungary, which allowed him to divert his image rights and avoid paying tax.
