Ghana’s Game Boy wins IBO Lightweight title
Ghanaian boxer, Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe, has beaten South African Mzoke Fana to win the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) World Lightweight title.
The bout was fought at the Bukom Arena in Accra under the auspices of the Baby Jet Promotions.
Game Boy Tagoe won the fight with a 120/106, 120/107, 120/106 score from the three judges.
Tagoe dominated all 12 rounds, apart from a few moments when Fana tried to make a comeback. The South African was knocked down twice in the first round.
After the bout, Mzoke Fana lost consciousness and was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
