Ghanaians react to Sarkodie’s tweet on “submission for exposure”

Ghanaians have taken to social media to either criticize or praise Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie for his call on Ghanaian creative artists to submit their materials for his music video.

Sarkodie tweeted a photo this morning that had the caption, “Be part of my new video … Come promo your Art”.

The photo asked “Avant Garde hipsters and creative artistes” to submit their materials to be featured in his next music video.

“It is not paying gig, it is however an opportunity to gain lots of exposure,” the poster also said.

Some people have taken to social media to criticize Sarkodie, saying that he has enough money to pay these artists instead of using them for free, all in the name of exposure.

Some others praised him, saying that he has provided an avenue for the creative materials and the artists to get the needed exposure.

Sarkodie has, in recent times, been saying in some of his songs that some event organizers cannot afford to pay him. He also referred to the African Print which M.anifest prefers to wear most of the time as “Kaba.”
