Usain Bolt loses triple-triple Olympic gold medal
Usain Bolt and the Jamaican have been stripped of their 4×100 Olympic gold medal from the Beijing Games in 2008.
This is after one of the runners, Nesta Carter was found guilty of a doping violation. The International Olympic Committee made this announcement on Wednesday (January 25, 2017).
Nesta Carter initially tested negative after the race in 2008 but his sample was found to contain a prohibited stimulant (methylhexaneamine) after it was tested last year.
He was also a part of the team that won 4×100 relay team in London in 2012. No announcement has, however, been made about the status of that medal. He is a three-time world champion in the relay.
Usain Bolt won the 100 metres, the 200 metres and the 4×100 relay in the last three Summer Olympics.
