Jay Z is the first rapper to be chosen for songwriters hall of fame
Jay Z has emerged the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
He is joined by Max Martin, Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, Berry Gordy, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and some three members of Chicago.
Last year’s inductees included Tom Petty, Elvis Costello and Marvin Gaye.
This year’s induction will take place on June 5 at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York City.
