Indians angry at minister for saying women need protection from hormonal outbursts
Indians are angry with their Minister for Women and Children Minister for saying that young women need protection from their own ‘hormonal outbursts.’
The minister said this on a TV show on which she was defending the imposition of early curfews on girls’ hostels across the country.
“When you are 16 or 17 you also hormonally very challenged. So to protect you from your own hormonal outbursts perhaps a lakshaman rekha (boundary line) is drawn. It really is for your own safety,” she said.
