Edward Enninful named new British Vogue editor
British Vogue has announced that its new editor will be Edward Enninful. He will be replacing Alexander Shulman.
Jonathan Newhouse, Chairman and Chief Executive of Conde Nast, said that Edward is considered “to be an influential figure in the communities of fashion, Hollywood and music which shape the cultural zeitgeist.”
Edward Enninful won the Isabella Blow award for fashion creator of the year by the British Council in 2014 and got the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire last year from the Queen of England.
Rumours in the fashion world suggest that he was appointed out of a shortlist of four, which included Katie Grand (Editor of LOVE and GQ’s Contributing Women’s Editor), Jo Ellison (Financial Times fashion editor), Emily Sheffield (current deputy editor of British Vogue) and Edward himself.
