The Weeknd donates to Ugandan Health facility
The Weeknd has donated $100,000 to a medical centre in Uganda – the Suubi Health Centre, which is a maternity and children’s medical centre.
The donation is to help complete the construction of the first floor of the centre’s maternity clinic and increase its occupancy capacity.
The donation was influenced by French Montana’s social media campaign, #Unforgettable. Montana donated $100,000 to help the Suubi Health centre finance incubators, ambulances, cribs and a blood bank.
The Weeknd donated $50,000 to help establish the Ethiopian Studies Program at the University of Toronto in 2016.
